How to update to v1.5?

How do I update my ZimaOS installation to v1.5?

I dont get any prompt about it, just about apps ready for update.

Should I just wait or do I need to do it manually? In that case how do I do it?

Same question. I just received my Zima2 and very happy about it so far. But I don’t have any button or prompt to update to 1.5.

Any DNS- or Firewall-Blocker in use?

Thanks. Nothing fancy that would prevent open Internet access. And the network menu (little network icon in the top right) displays a working connexion.
I just got it though, so I’ll install remote access to test nothing’s wrong with that.

Even if it shows a working connection, some users in the forum had used software like „AdBlock Home“ or piHole, which prevented updates and Plus activation.

Ok. I don’t have AdBlock or piHole activated. I’m using Google and Cloudflare DNS. That’s about it. I’ll try a reboot once I’m done transfering data from my previous NAS. I’ll try to DMZ an hour or two the ZB2 to see if that changes anything.

The ZB2 has been DMZed and rebooted. Still no luck to update and I’m stuck v1.4.3

Something like NextDNS or similar? How about temporarly deactivating/removing any custom DNS entries?

nope, nothing like NextDNS. Switched DNS entries to my internet provider default entries and restarted.
No luck yet :frowning:

You could try to update via command line.

More ideas (in case if the problem is your network and not your device or the OS):

  • USB-to-ethernet adapter
  • mobile router
  • usb-tethering

I tried updating via the cmd line and got curl:Download failed after 2 attempts
Tried downloading directly from IceWhale release page on github and that download failed. I am trying wget but right now it’s at 5% and a 250kb download speed. I just want to upgrade 1.4.3 to v1.5.
Last resort is migrating everything away to my lan storage and just doing a fresh install. I have the Developer mode/Join the Beta experience enabled but have not gotten an update that way but I suspect that may be because ZimaOS is installed on a mini pc. I looked for the raucb file on some git hub mirrors but did not find it at any of those places.

UPDATE: I was able to update my ZimaOS to v1.5 by running this command:

curl -fsSL 'https://ota.zimaos.com/' | sh
