Hi,
I have been using my ZImaBlade for just over a month with no problems and whilst watching a film on it, it suddenly disconnected and is no longer showing up on the network.
When I turn it off and on with a monitor and keyboard plugged in, it says:
Reboot and select proper Boot device.
Now I can go into the boot loader options and choose one of debian options and I can log in and access the shell, but when I select the MMC option I get the above message.
My initial thought it, has the eMMC drive failed?
Is there anyway I can test for this at all?
I have done that and they only told me to do the very same thing I was told here…please see copy of my follow up email…
You have a truly wonderful bit of hardware here, which appears to fail on a few occasions, such is life. But you are being let down by poor customer service, which is totally avoidable.
I am still waiting a response to this email.
I first posted online , as mentioned below, 10 days ago, got a quick response, tried what you suggested, but it did not work.
I then notified you of that but got no further response, until I reposted when you asked me to contact after sales support, which I did, explaining what I had already tried.
Your response was quick but asked me to do the very same thing I had told you did not work!
That was 4 days ago and I still have not heard back from you.
Further reading of your online support forum shows that other people have had the same issue as myself, both with the hardware failing AND with your suggested reinstallation of the OS, so clearly this is not an isolated incident.
I fully understand that hardware can fail, and especially when you charge the lower end of the market, however, poor customer service, really is not acceptable.
So if you are unable to come up with further suggestions,m in a timely fashion, can you please either send me a new ZimaBlade or refund my money, as clearly you are not forthcoming in trying to resolve this issue.
