Hi,

ive got the same question.
Traditional SSD caching can be confusing for some users, so we recommend working on an SSD and creating a backup, always backing up your SSD data to an HDD. This ensures both high access speeds and data security. Zima Backup also supports adding multiple backup paths in one backup task, allowing you to set up a 3-2-1 backup setup from the start. We hope this helps.
I would also like to add small cache to my Raid.
I assume its very possible with sshed in. I see the raid on the drive sda and sdb for example and my ssds nvme0n1 and nvme1n1.
But before I try to add the smaller nvme as a cache I would like to be sure, that is procedure does not corrupt the Raid as I read something about reformat the raid.
I read, that ZFS would be an alternative. But I did not see that during the setup of the drives!
For me, figuring out a sync from ssd to raid is more troublesome than a 1 and done setup a new raid, and have a NVME cache that works with it. From end user, you don’t want to have to have 2 mounts, 1 for raid for older stuff. And a human has to decide what to remove from the SSD to the HDD Raid.
I want something to be fast to write to all the time, and to have it know what is used frequently to keep cached would be great. I don’t want to have to manage what happens when I fill my 2TB SSD storage.
I would also like SSD Cache for Raid, why is there no option?
It should be in every NAS OS
