I’ve recently flashed the latest ZimaOS on my ZimaBlade, and everything has been running smoothly. I need some help setting up direct streaming (DLNA or similar) to my LG WebOS Smart TV.
I have Plex and Jellyfin configured with Sonarr, Radarr, and Prowlarr for movies and TV shows.
I want to stream a separate set of videos (class materials) directly from ZimaOS without them being visible to third-party apps or appearing in Plex/Jellyfin libraries.
I can see the “Zimacube” DLNA server on my TV dashboard.
Tried sharing the special video folder as an SMB guest but couldn’t see any videos or folders on the DLNA server in my tv, all folders were empty.
I’ve read about using Serviio Media Server or Kodi and though about placing these videos in a different folder/volumes than the one i use for plex/jelly.
Ideally, I would like to share these videos directly from ZimaOS, (before buying the zimablade i was able to do this with an asus router ac68u with an usb external hd attached and just set the folder media share, and it immediately got the tv to direct play)
Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help
hi, i actually have all of my movies (in the /media/movies) folder managed with arrs apps prowlarr, sonarr and radarr, but, this movies doesnt show in the dlna zimacube server that i see in my tv, should i share this folder as guest?? in any case my request was to be able to share a different folder than movies, the ones with some classes so i can see it in the dlna server i see in my tv.
ive read that universal media server app is an option but i dont see this in the app store:
and when going to the UMS page, theres a docker option buy i dont know how to import it to run as an app in zima os
where you able to resolve the issue? I have the same problem. I tried putting a few movies on the MOVIES folder as suggested by @777-Spider but it did not show those video files.
nah men, i had to use jellyfin to my movies and series server, and then emby and set the movies folder to the folder where the videos are. No Dlna whatsoever
yeah I ended up doing the same thing… but since my media files and folders are a mess, I am rebuilding my file structure this weekend to have some order. I am trying to move away from Synology but unfortunately, most of my connected users(friends & family) are currently using dsvideo. So I have to get accustomed to Jellyfin and their structure. Also I have not tried accessing my Jellyfin server outside my network, any links for some tutorial or tips? TIA
