ZimaOS appstore, what is the update policy for apps?

Is it when there is a mayor update, security, stability issue, monthly or when people are asking for it?

i have seen a lot of the software in the “apps” is not up2date with current version from the vendor/owner of the software..

i can accept if there is a cycle of sorts or even always a few version behinde newest version released.

Store software versions are manually maintained. Additionally, some community versions of stores may offer updated app versions. Which specific app and what issue did you encounter?

This article is also applies to ZimaOS.

Look forward to your feedback.

While we’re already at it, what’s the easiest way to update image versions and logos for the default Appstore? Perhaps just pull a request in GitHub - IceWhaleTech/CasaOS-AppStore: Manifest files for CasaOS Apps?

i still think there should be a policy/roadmap something that tells people when it would get updated..

i have seen apps where it is 1-2 years after the current one from the software/container developer./creator. and for me the missing version number and last updated time is a big thing missing.

like “uptime kuma” it’s a very old version..

do you need people to help check/test the apps? not sure how many people you are in the team/company.. i was part of the kickstarter with zimaboard 2..

Ihave help other project with QA package maintainer before

@vipper_666 Hello, for some service-type applications, we can’t guarantee they’ll always be up-to-date; stability is also a factor. However, we prioritize availability issues. For example, we recently updated the Immich application because its corresponding mobile app was no longer compatible with the older version of the server program. Additionally, our app store regularly checks the PR list and merges requests as needed.

@Harryd Thank you for your enthusiasm. There are many ways to contribute to the Store. Creating your own App Store or submitting a PR to GitHub are both good ideas.

We are indeed a small team, and if anyone has better ways to collaborate with app stores, please feel free to share them. Or, if you have specific app needs, please post them or submit them.

Would you please open a PR for the Uptime Kuma App?

Thank you again for your feedback.

i will try something like that.. create an app store for my own versions then.. might even publish it at some point… first lean!

might go for doing a pr, but im not really setup for that here yet..
