ZimaOS 1.4.1 Beta feedback

Hello there!
I am testing the “ZimaOS v1.4.1-beta1” on my ZimaBoard 832 and on ZimaBlade 7700; common errors, on both devices:

  • lmost every installation does NOT make the installed app appear; a reboot is required.
  • The reboot takes twice as long as the previous version.
  • The support for images (I mean pictures/photos) of ZimaBlade and ZimaBoard is appreciated.
  • When an application is “disabled,” just like during installation, the home screen does not update and you have to reboot to see the app correctly disabled.
  • When shutting down, the message “the Zimacube is shutting down” appears (please fix this for ZimaBlade and ZimaBoard).
  • Would it be possible to get a kernel update? This would provide support for Bluetooth adapters that are otherwise not recognized (e.g., for Home Assistant…). A built-in BT radio would also be a significant PLUS for future Zima* versions.

  1. The issue of doubling the shutdown time is currently being investigated.
  2. We will fix the “App update status is not timely” issue in the near future.
  3. The text adaptation of board/blade has been adjusted recently.
  4. What kernel version are you mentioning, or what driver do you need?

Today I wanted to try 1.4.1 Beta 2
The installation ISO didn’t go to the installer as expected, wanted to boot to the ZimaOS nvme installed. There were errors in the system and the Apps wouldn’t load, so I formatted the drive. Now I have ZimaOS running off a 16GB USB. Is the intended for Testing?
