With the new 1.2.5 update for the Zimacube, I read that there will be more support for GPUs. Can you provide more detail on that, including cards you plan on supporting and cards you are testing? I’m aware there are reports that some work but nothing has been officially confirmed. Thanks
Hi, hope this can help you.GPU Expansion | Zimaspace Docs
With that being said if I do install a gpu and I am currently running a normal install of Plex, will I need to uninstall that version to install the Plex Nvidia version in the App Store?
That would mean that I would loose any settings I currently have I’m sure.
Yes, if you’re using a gpu, you should use the plex gpu-specific version.
Will more support for Intel GPUs be added?
I’m sorry I thought you were an NVIDIA video card. If you have an Intel graphics card, you can use the plex version, not that gpu version. We have upgraded the kernel of zimaos and it now supports Intel graphics cards.
I have installed the Asrock A380 graphics card.
How can you tell that the card is working properly using ZimaOS on a ZimaCube running 1.2.5?
I have selected it as the preferred transcoding device in Plex.
Also I noticed from others with an Nvidia card there was a widget that showed the usage and temperature (what about Intel cards).
Are there any bios settings that are needed?
Is there a list of compatible or officially tested by Icewhale Intel video cards?
This seems to be something that people have had questions about with no real answers.
You can check if the graphics card is working properly with the command ‘lspci -k | grep -A 2 -i “VGA”’ BTW the bios doesn’t need any additional settings. As for the widget display, we are still discussing which version to put it in. The updated list of graphics cards, we are collecting information about them and will update it later.
Thanks for the reply. I’ll give it a try.
Don’t believe the command is working.
Sorry for the reply error, please use the command ‘intel_gpu_top -L’
Still doesn’t see the card. IDK
