ZIMACUBE freezes often and from the last reboot RAID 5 is corrupted

Sorry for my English, but I’m writing from a translator.

Good morning everyone,
for a while now, when I do operations that require some more processing power (for example when I use the GPU for AI Ollama, when I extract very large archives, when I copy a large amount of data) it freezes.
Yesterday I left some videos to convert with handbrake and it happened again, this time however I was away from home so when I came back, my ZIMACUBE was blocked and so I turned off and on the power (usually I hold down the power button).
When I restarted the RAID was no longer recognized, it told me that 3 disks out of 6 were not recognized.
I tried to recover the raid with the command:
mdadm --create --assume-clean --level=5 --raid-devices=6 /dev/md0 /dev/sda /dev/sdb /dev/sdc /dev/sdd /dev/sde /dev/sdf
but it didn’t let me mount it because it doesn’t find the partition
after which I tried with testdisk to recover it but after a while the nas freezes again.

Thank you for providing the detailed information. I understand you have two issues to resolve: 1. Why the system crashes when the GPU is under high load, 2. Why the RAID configuration was lost. Firstly, please be assured that your data is not lost, and we strongly recommend against performing manual operations. You can privately message me your remote ID, ZimaOS account, and password, and we will remotely check and restore your RAID configuration. We will not access or view your personal data, so please rest assured. Additionally, please send the videos you mentioned so we can conduct tests and checks.

Thank you for your cooperation.

First of all thanks for the interest, I don’t think it’s just the GPU or rather I also perform command line operations like extracting archives and copying files and it froze even in that case.
For videos it’s a normal conversion of films in this case the series suits.
How can I contact you I can’t find any button even on the profile

You can send an email to link@icewhale.org.

Thank you for your feedback. Upon investigation, we found that the execution of the mdadm --create command has overwritten the RAID superblock, preventing the reconstruction of the previous RAID. We recommend that you recreate the RAID through the ZimaOS interface.

Additionally, please remove the mdadm --create command line from your post to prevent other users from making similar mistakes.

Thank you for your understanding.

It doesn’t let me edit the original message. However, I’m solving the problem with data recovery with photorec.

Now I have to figure out why my NAS freezes every time it does a more “complex” operation

Thank you for your feedback. We will assist you in understanding why the freezing occurs. Could you please let us know if you are still experiencing freezing issues at the moment?
