ZimaCube fan surging

Greetings,
My ZimaCube (base model, not pro) has already had the cooling fan upgrade. However, periodically my fan will go into a surge mode.

My CPU ramps up to about 18% and the fan kicks in for 4-5 seconds, then both CPU and fan drop down to about 4% for a few seconds then it ramps up again.

This will last for minutes or hours then things will revert to normal operations.
It can happen at all hours of a day, with little to no changes on the ZimaCube. I am not torrenting files or anything like that that might cause some change in demand/load.
Monitoring the CPU list of what’s running does not seem to indicate what might be causing this.

Here is a list of what I have installed.

Any assistance helps.

Try to use btop to locate the possible processes that might be the cause.

You can launch btop here:

Thank you for that. I was looking for a similar tool and hadn’t noticed it was built in.

OK- I am seeing network traffic:

The image demonstrates consistent UL/DL Traffic.

I am having trouble correlating this to the CPU load as I’m not seeing anything that stands out. However, I hope you can.

What else can I provide?

Try to observe that:

When the fan is surging, what process occupies the most of the CPU?

Also, try to customize your fan settings in BIOS:
