ZimaCube 2 Fan Noise

Hi, I got my ZimaCube 2. I did some test runs with ZimaOS and I noticed that the fan went pretty quickly silent once inside ZimaOS, but as I want full disk encryption, I went with another OS. The issue now is that the fans do not go silent but stay very loud, it seems especially the system fans.

I tried to adjust the fan curve in the BIOS, but I realized that adjusting the system fans does not change anything. The speed of the system fans is also shown with N/A, so I guess the changes are not even applied.

Can someone confirm that the system fan is also shown N/A for them and that is normal? Any options to improve this or do I have to change the fans?

All you need to do is shut down the Cube, unplug the power lead for about 20 seconds, then plug it back in and switch it on. You should find that the fans run very quietly again.

Even after a ZimaOS update reboots my Cube and the fans start running loudly, I do the same full power disconnect and, amazingly, they become quiet again. It just works.

I did not expect that, but that actually worked. That’s super weird. Seems like a BIOS bug then? :smiley:
