Zima installer USB keeps freezing during startup

Hi all,

I’m trying to install Zima on a miniPC. I’ve tried different computers, different USB sticks, and different installer versions (1.4.0 and 1.4.1), and I’m having a recurring problem in all of these cases.

The installer USB starts the boot process fine. Beginning with “Starting syslogd: OK” it cycles through about 10 other items until “Starting command: OK”, then it just stops and won’t continue. It’s not completely dead, because if I tap the power button at that point it immediately reacts by showing some messages, shutting things down and indicating that it is powering off.

Suggestions? Thanks.

You can try this.

Thank you, I will try that. I don’t yet have an installed instance of Zima os, this is all installer troubles.

Didn’t work, at least as I envisioned it should. This installer image did boot the OS, but it didn’t offer to install anything. I am trying to get the OS installed on the eMMC so it will boot without the USB drive.

While it was running in USB mode, I was able to connect to the interface and see my installed storage and the Enable All button (worked? No errors, at least), but it threw an error (a red box with no text in it) when I tried to format those drives.
