Zima has proven to complex for me. Anyone interested in a slightly used Zima Cube?

Hello all,

Sadly, I’m not tech savvy enough to get the fullest potential of my brand new Zima Cube Personal Cloud. Instead of returning it and it flying all the way back to China, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing it from me. In the Boston, MA area if you’re lucky enough to be near and I’d be willing to ship.

Kind Regards

I am in tech, but was only in it for a little over a year when I purchased a Zimacube. I had to reach out to this community for help on some pretty basic things and was met with solid answers and suggestions. This is a learning process, but thankfully, the Zimacube is pretty easy to use. If you’re hung up on something, throw it out in here and we can help you. Once you start getting the hang of it, the more you realize how fun and rewarding tech can be.

Hi there,

I completely agree with your logic, but honestly as some one who is not i tech and most of my time consumed my job (residential architecture), its hard to spend time on this. I mean im willing to pay someone for some time to help me set up an awesome system.

That’s completely understandable. ZimaCube is powerful, but it does assume you have time and headspace to learn it, which isn’t always realistic when work comes first.

A few practical options you might consider before selling:

• Many users here (myself included) started with very limited Linux or NAS experience and only got comfortable after a guided setup
• A short paid setup session can actually save weeks of frustration. Once the foundations are done properly, day-to-day use is very straightforward
• If you share what your “ideal setup” looks like (backups, media, remote access, file sharing, etc.), people here can often map out a simple, no-nonsense approach for you
• You don’t need to use all the advanced features. ZimaCube works perfectly well as a clean, reliable personal cloud with just a handful of apps

If you do decide to sell, totally fair. But if you’re open to it, I’d suggest posting what you want the system to do, and how hands-on (or hands-off) you want to be. That usually makes things click very quickly.

Either way, no wrong choice
