I have my OS and VM installed on an nvme. I have a couple of sata drives as independant jbod’s. Runniing v 1.4.3
Have installed a couple of VM’s. I want to be able to create a couple of separate drives in windows. I could set a single large drive and then partition inside of Windows (I assume). But I don’t see an option to add a second drive after the initial setup. The VM options seem very limited compared to say Unraid or Proxmox. Also, no hardware pass-though. I also can’t see an option to expand a hard drive after install. Is there some super secrete menu option I need to find or are these basic functions not available?
Currently, ZVM provides one-click installation and use of virtual machines. If you need to adjust the virtual machine in detail, you need advanced CLI skills and understanding of the virsh tool.
Yes, you can use virsh
tool to achieve what you want.
Not quite one click, but I get the sentiment. But at the end of the day it’s still very lightweight in terms of options to set up the VM. For example, if on initial installation I want to allocate multiple drives, I don’t think I can. So on the one hand you have “one-click” but on the other hand you are stuck with the limited initial setup options. No hardware passthrough, for example, how do I attach a usb device? I’m new to zimaos, just was expecting more.
Currently, yes, you can install it with one click, and the options are relatively few. And to achieve advanced options, you need to master the CLI skills. In the future, we may add more options to the virtual machine at the GUI level.
