Hi, I’m about to buy a Zimaboard 832 to use it as a media server. I would use the usb 3.0 port to plug on it a Sabrent USB 3.2 Drive Docking station (DS-SC5B). I’ve installed 5 hard drives on it. 1x18Tb, 2 x16Tb and 2x14Tb. Would the 16Tb and 18Tb be recognized and mounted ? This station works perfectly on the back of an Android box but it doesn’t work for some disks on the usb port of a synology nas (maximum HD size exceeds). As the purpose is tu use it to share those 5 drives on my entire network, I need to have a sure answer…
Thanks in advance,

Hello, we are glad that you are interested in our products.
Regarding the question you mentioned about whether Zimaboard 832 is compatible with Sabrent USB 3.2 Drive Docking station (DS-SC5B), we checked the official website of USB 3.2 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Tray-less Docking Station - Sabrent.
The website content shows that DS-SC5B is compatible with Windows/macOS/Linux, so in theory, yes, your station should be able to work with ZimaBoard, because the underlying system of CasaOS pre-installed on ZimaBoard is Debian, which is also a very popular Linux distribution. However, it is possible that you need to enter the command line to perform relevant drive mapping operations.
But there are always contingencies. If it does not work, you may still need to contact Sabrent, or even switch to other systems or other devices.
Of course, we look forward to your good news!
Thanks for the fast answer. And regarding the HD size ? Are 16Tb or 18Tb supported ?
Yes, I know but I want to know if it will be mounted. Is there a maximum size for drives plugged on the usb of the 832?
We have tested that 18TB HDDs are compatible with Zimaboard’s native SATA interface. Our file system can handle hard drives of this size.
