I have been looking for an option to automatically power on the ZimaBoard when it’s turned off. I currently have a NAS that turns off at night and on during the day, and I want to schedule the ZimaBoard to do the same. I see there is a scheduled power-off option, but is there one for powering it on?
If not, I will look at getting a smart plug to power cycle it when I want it on.
To my knowledge you need some sort of external clock that keep accrete time (ie like you mentioned a smart plug controlled by home assistant to turn on @ 6am) this can’t be done on a machine that’s powered off by it’s self.
“WOL is an industry standard protocol for waking computers up from a low-power mode remotely. The definition of low-power mode means while the computer is off and has access to a power source.”
maybe your definition of “turned off” is different then my own. Give it a go and report back
