RAID1 - can single disk be read easily everywhere?

Hello,

assuming a RAID1-based system with ZimaOS has a failed disk (for example disk #2), apart from the usual reaction to swap out drives and let it rebuild, would it be generally technically possible to just take out disk #1 (the good drive), install it in a different PC and read / just use it as regular disk? Would this be generally the to be expected behaviour of a RAID1-disk or is such a disk not readable at all elsewhere without specific special steps / software?

Thanks for clarification how a ZimaOS-based RAID1 single disk would behave in such a situation.
