Hi, every time I restart Zimaboard 2 with Zimaos, the SMB network shares are not remounted. Is there a solution?
Thanks
After a reboot, SMB shares can appear unavailable until the storage pool is fully mounted. Usually this resolves itself within a minute or two.
What to check:
- Make sure the disk/storage pool is mounted and shows as online in Storage
- Confirm the share still exists under Shares (no need to recreate it)
- From a client, refresh or reconnect the network drive (Windows often needs this)
Workarounds that help:
- Ensure the share is created from a mounted storage pool (not a transient path)
- Avoid sharing folders before the disk is fully initialized
- If it persists, restarting the SMB service or toggling the share off/on once usually restores it
Thank you for your reply. The share is set up with the FILES application and disappears when I restart, so I have to recreate it.
Thanks for the clarification.
If a share created via the FILES app disappears after every reboot, that isn’t normal. FILES-based SMB shares should persist across restarts.
Please email community@icewhale.org with your ZimaOS version and a brief description of the behavior so the team can review it and advise.
Thank you very much, I will do so.
Bye
