How does Zima client app handle duplicate photo or video names? I currently use the zima app to backup the photos from my phone to a folder, but if my phone eventually reuses the same name for a photo (img.6877) and I have not changed the first photo’s name, what will it do? It looks like if my wife and I have the same photo or video name, it does not back it up. Is there a way to fix this? I do not want to delete stuff off my phone if it is not properly backed up.
In Zima Client, files with the same name are currently considered to already exist, so they may be skipped during backup.
To avoid this, please set a different backup destination folder for each phone—for example, separate folders for you and your wife. This will ensure that photos and videos with the same filename are backed up safely.
For now, please don’t delete the original files from your phones until you’ve confirmed that the backup is complete.
