Just needing some help. I am new to this. I created a raid1 drive with two 4TB hard drives. It became read only so i tried to use the recovery feature. It helped and then when I transferred some data into the raid drive it became read only again, so I formatted it and now it shows three drives and also shows them as full and read only. Help! I just want to store my data!
When i checked it again today it has the below messages and will not let me click the “next” button to enter recovery. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Yeah this looks like the array dropped drives, not just a simple read-only issue.
Once Zima shows “disk missed”, it locks things down to protect the data, which is why recovery won’t proceed properly.
Most common cause is something simple like a loose connection or a drive briefly disconnecting, then the RAID state gets confused.
I’d make sure all drives are properly connected first, then let the resync finish if it’s still running. If those disks still show as missed after that, the array state is likely broken and needs a proper rebuild.
Just don’t keep forcing recovery steps if the data matters, that can make it worse.
