My RTS5129 card reader isn't working

I connect the memory card to this reader and it’s not recognized. Using a USB adapter works perfectly. I believe it’s a driver issue, as the reader works on other operating systems. Does anyone have a solution?

Is this a USB card reader?

It’s the card reader for the Samsung NP550XCJ.

Okay, I’m going to add some drivers for this IC, and I’ll need your help to test it.

I am available, I await your response.

We’ve added the corresponding drivers to the beta version that just released and you can test it out.

It didn’t work on ZimaOS v1.5.3-beta1.

Okay, I’ll check if the driver was actually added to the update.

I have checked that the driver has been successfully installed on the system, and I may not have found the correct driver.

Please let me know when the driver is added.

You try to upgrade to the latest 1.5.3 version, depending on the IC model, I have added the relevant drivers, if possible, you can provide a more detailed reader hardware information.

It also didn’t work in version 1.5.3, when running lsusb I get the following return:

Zima@ZimaOS:~ ➜ $lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0bda:0129 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTS5129 Card Reader Controller
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 2232:1080 Silicon Motion Web Camera

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub

Is there any precise method, or any way for me to install the drivers myself?

I’m trying to add this driver, but ZimaOS doesn’t support installing the driver yourself.

I was waiting for the next update hoping the driver would install, but it didn’t. Is there any chance it will be included in the next update, or should I give up?

I updated the driver one more time, and you can wait for the official version of 1.5.4 to be released this weekend

Just letting you know that the card was recognized in the new version, thank you very much.

Glad your problem was solved.
