Just want to install pihole

Howdy !.. was looking to replace my dead raspberry pi .. w/ a Zima Board maybe.. ( close to same price )
in searching the forum i found these possible issues.
Any idea if these are all fixed ?
Would it be easier maybe to just get a Zima Board and install some full Linux flavor ?
Again.. all i reeally want is a reliable Pi-Hole machine haha.

  • with CasaOS - after adding new ad lists i need to do a chown on /etc/pihole ?
  • Port 53 is now open / g2g to use w/ pihole ?
  • If i want pihole to load after a reboot i need to add a cron job ? well Systemd .

ZimaOS and CasaOS share the same App Store, and Pi-hole is included in the App Store.

And yes, both CasaOS and ZimaOS can be installed in ZimaBoard/ZimaBlade.

You may need to find relevant forums or video resources to learn how to use the Pi-hole app. You are also welcome to share your experience.

Any idea if i have to chown that file after every time i add a new AD list ?
Also if i reboot the device will pihole load at boot up ?

For the first question, I think read permission is enough. For the second, yes, it is expected to load after boot up.
