How to reduce power usage with zima os on generic x86 hardware?

As the title said, I’m wondering how to reduce power usage when idle or even in use.
I couldn’t figure out how to install powertop because, from what I understood, zima os is immutable.

Any tips for this?

We have sleep functions for disks for now.

We believe it will save some electricity.

About powertop, waiting for engineers to feedback.

And regarding the powertop, how will you use it to reduce the power comsumption? What will you do specifically? We want more info.

Addtionally, our system has been on powersave mode.

I only have one nvme running so I doubt that disk standby would do much. As for power top I had the same PC running proxmox and power usage was lower with about 10w running about the same thing as now

I had some hope when I saw that the fresh install was hovering at about 15w or just about 6-7w lower that the previous proxmox install and then when I started to install all the thing I had before it when to about 30w (all measurements are with an external plug and I wasn’t doing anything with the system)

I hoped that maybe power top could reduce the 30w idle back to what it was with the fresh instance. Sorry for my English I’m not a native speaker

I’m running tail scale, ad guard, a game server instance manager and I think that’s about it now.
Although the 30w idle is with game servers off and just Adguard and tailscale.

OK, messages shared to our team.

And additionally, from your point of view, you have the sames apps as before and you expect the same power consumption. But ZimaOS does not noly contains the app you like, but also have more services like SMABA, DLNA, AI search… So, more power may be needed.

In any case, your needs will be considered.

powertop will be added in the next version. Hope you can share some screenshots of your experiments. Or even some promising results.
