How does Backup App work in ZimaOS?

Currently, when the backup function is set to automatic, it does indeed execute automatically at specific times of the day (usually in the early morning). And good news, the feature that allows you to customize the backup time is now under discussion in internal meetings.

So,

  • Automatic = runs 1/day early morning on predefined time
  • Manual = needs to be triggered manually each time

Is this a correct understanding of current setup?

Please elaborate more on this. Is there no way to set the time yourself?

That’s pretty much correct. There’s currently no way to configure the time yourself, but this feature is indeed under internal discussion. And I think there’s a high probability it will be implemented. Hopefully, this is helpful.

Good to hear. maybe a good step would be to let users know when the auto will run so they can plan other things around that one

Mine doesn’t have the option to choose automatic or manual.

Am I correct in assuming that when the daily backup runs it only does anything that has changed in the source drive or folder?

Hey guys. I might have confused the backup logic of ZimaOS and Zima Client.

Sorry to bother you.
