Has anyone migrated from ZimaOS to Unraid?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to migrate my NAS from ZimaOS 1.7.1 to Unraid and would like to know if anyone here has already made this switch.

My current setup includes multiple HDDs of different capacities, two NVMe SSDs in RAID 0, and quite a few Docker containers with their own configurations and AppData.

I’m particularly interested in:

  • Can existing HDDs with EXT4 filesystems be migrated without losing data?

  • What is the best way to migrate Docker containers, Compose configurations, and AppData?

  • Has anyone successfully migrated an existing NVMe RAID 0 setup?

  • What problems did you encounter during the migration?

  • Would you recommend Unraid after using ZimaOS?

My main priority is to preserve my existing data and Docker configurations without having to rebuild everything from scratch.

I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences and any advice you might have.
