Could not map a network drive. 'An extended error has occured'

When I try to map a network drive, (i’ve tried its tailscale IP, casaos.local, and its local IP) it asks for my credentials, I use my web ui user/pass and it works fine, BUT it asks for credentials again and I cannot satisfy it. It simply replies ‘An extended error has occured’ and fails. I am using debian 12. It works fine on my macbook and doesn’t need any auth there

I’ve encountered this when trying to map a drive from a windows computer to a windows computer. Turns out that the computer that I was mapping on somehow was activated as an education version of windows, which evidently has network feature limitations. The windows that the drive was in was a pro version so I reactivated the other computer as pro and mapping worked on the first try. Not sure if this helps but because that error is so vague, I wanted to share my findings.
