So after the newest update came out, I haven’t been able to make a RAID config. I’ve got a DAS connected to a mini PC and have had it running with 2 hard drives on RAID1 for a week. I just wiped and formatted them again because, surprise surprise, I got a 3rd drive. Excited to create a RAID5 and really get this show on the road, I was disappointed to see Zima say “USB connection may disconnect under load or sleep.” and won’t let me create a RAID array anymore.
I’ve tried RAID5, RAID1, RAID0, and even just removing the old drive and trying to go back to my original setup. None of this has worked. Also the Settings UI in Zima is a little glitched out now too with text running off the interface (like the background of the UI is too small to to contain the buttons and text it’s trying to display)
If anyone can help me PLEASE do. If I can go back to the last update perhaps that would fix it. I’m trying to get this sorted out before I would inevitably make some sad returns for my newly bought hardware
Same problem. Someone smart plz plz help

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve emailed the Zima Team with the same synopsis I put above. If they reply with a fix, I’ll post it to this same thread
This is because you are currently using the Free version, which is limited to a maximum of four disks. As indicated by your screenshot, you have already utilized three disks, leaving you with one available disk. However, the RAID 1 configuration you wish to create requires two disks. Please upgrade to the Plus version to lift this disk limitation. Thank you in advance for your support.
FYI, please check if you are also experiencing this problem.
No, see I deconstructed the RAID config I had with the two original drives when I bought the new drive a few days ago. I only have 3 drives in total. Also, as I mentioned, even if it remembered my original 2-drive config, it shouldve been fine after I tried removing the third drive to try and create the same 2-drive config I had before by that logic. So something else is wrong
i see what you are saying. i have a 4-bay DAS with 4 HDDs for my zimaOS. however, none of these HDDs are being used for any purpose whatsoever (prior to this update they were not even being logically recognized by zima). it’s saying 4/4 used, but i dont understand why. how can i use these four hdds to create a raid5 setup?? theyre all completely empty
