I’m trying to set up plex on my new ZimaOS server, but when I open the app, it doesn’t have any options to set up a server. It just asks me to download Plex Media Server, which is surprising because I was led to believe that this is what I was installing off of the app store. Why would I simply download the Plex Player app on my server instead of the media server app? I don’t really know how to troubleshoot this, and I am not used to downloading with Docker. I am so confused and was wondering if someone could lend me a hand
After installing Plex from the ZimaOS app store, click the three dots on the app and select “Tips.” That opens a setup guide with the instructions needed to run it as a server.
Once you follow those steps and link Plex to your account, it will initialize as a Plex Media Server instead of just the player interface. Remember to click the wrench to get to your server settings.
That should get you up and running. I hope this helps!
I tried that. It didn’t work ![]()
I don’t know if i did something wrong from the tips but it still doesn’t work even after I linked it to my media path. I even deleted the plex file and reinstalled the app
When you first opened the app, did it prompt you to sign in to your Plex account? I signed in right away, then went back in and set up my libraries afterward since my media is stored on a LAN drive.
