I have a Zima instance running very well and the family is using it for various things. They do complain about all the other stuff on our Zima menu, such as monitoring, etc. I agree with them. It looks like I will be running a 3rd party menu (Homarr) which I see is not an issue within the Zima ecosystem.
They love the Android client so want to stick with ZIma default. And I really like the Zima Backup as well. I’ll put all the nerdy and important stuff on Homarr.
So as for them NOT to see these maintenance apps, I have decided to re-deploy them using Docker CLI and/or Portainer. And putting like apps into Stacks (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus, Node Exporter, cAdvisor). And with the family dependency on Zima now, looking at a backup server (swarm?)

Is there anything I need to consider in the combined compose file for stacks so that Zima stays happy?
I can understand why the developers have not implemented any stack stuff in ZimaOS. It’s a rabbit hole that is fun to go down…. but it complicates the ease of use of ZimaOS
As an aside… we live rurally and are on a 4G connection that maxes out at 25mbps. Pi-Hole is a savior. We are now caching or blocking all but 8% of our DNS requests. Amazing.
