Hallo Community,
habe auf einen “alten” tower pc ZimaOs am laufen. Alles gut, nur leider ist das Netzwerk mit 100mb etwas lansam.
Da der Router ja 10gb kann wollte ich aufrüsten. Nur die frage welche karte am besten geeignet wäre ???
Vielleicht kann mir jemand ja einen Ratschlag geben ?!?!
That would depend on your motherboard and what hardware you’re running your OS on. Typically any Intel based chip will work smoothly - eg. X510, X540, X710, etc.
It will just be a matter on how much you can afford and what gen and lane speed your PCIe slots have. A typical 4x10G runs on PCIe 3.0 8x slot but if you’re constrained with x4 that should change your possibilities and pricing accordingly too.

Hi. I have not seen 5 or 10GbE on a PCIe x1, but you can get a 2 port 2.5GbE on an Intel 225 chipset.
What PCIE gen do you have? If it’s Gen 3.0 then you’re out of luck indeed and will have to settle with either 2.5GbE or 5GbE if you’re lucky. If you’ve got PCIE gen 4.0 then you can still find some 10GbE NIC’s - eg. Marvell AQC113 chip - but I wouldn’t be confident with proper driver support in ZimaOS though.
