ZimaOS - DHCP Problem

Hi
I had installed ZimaOS and had to reinstall it because something wasn’t working; now Zima won’t start and gets stuck at DHCP.

I don’t know what to do now. I just can’t get any further. Sorry, I’m using a translator.

Hello

Normally, the network detects everything automatically!

But I’ve had this problem before because DHCP was disabled. Enabling the “Auto DHCP” option in my router solved it.

And if, for some reason, you can’t set DHCP to “Auto,” then you’ll have to assign a free IP address yourself.

Since the settings are different for every router, you’ll need to consult your router’s user manual for specific settings.

Good luck!

I can’t say or help any more than that.

But be patient, the guys will definitely get in touch.

Thanks.

The problem is that DHCP is enabled on the router. I’ve already restarted it. I have no idea what’s causing this; it’s just annoying because I can’t use it like this.

Then you need to check if the network settings are enabled in the BIOS on your PC

Even some older PCs have network options to enable and disable DHCP.

I’ll try erasing the hard drive with gpartet and then reinstalling. There must still be some remnants left on the drive. Which would be really strange, since the installation process actually formats the drive.

Hi! This is not related to ZimaOS. Your system is failing to find the correct boot device and it’s trying to boot from network.

Check the boot options and boot order. ZimaOS needs to boot from an EFI device.

Good luck!

normally the installer finds the hard drives automatically.

Check the boot options in the BIOS, as he suggested.

I’ll test it later and report back

Deactivate PXE function in BIOS.

Oh man, that’s so embarrassing, it was the wrong boot order. I thought it would do the same as the first installation. ^^

Thanks everyone
