Greetings !
I have 1 Zimaboard2 and 1 ZimaOS Server running and i love it. however i seem to have a little problem with the Zima client for my phone and Desktop. it can only connect to 1 of the 2 units. when i want to connect to the other one i have to disconnect the zimaclient and search my local net to connect and loggin on the other device. then do it again when i want to connect to the first device.
is there not a way to connect to two zimaOS devices at the same time ?
thanks in advance
Kenneth
Hi, I noticed this as well, when I put my recently received ZimaBoards2 into operation. So far my workaround is to just keep 2 browser tabs open, being logged into each dashboard separately - so actually I don’t make use yet of the ZimaClient. That applies to desktop PC scenario. The mobile client hasn’t been yet in my scope of use.
Hint: in order to not execute actions on the wrong unit, you may want to set a separate, distinct wallpaper on the dashboard to easier identify the unit you are currently on. Yesterday I restarted the wrong instance by accident, and then I took notice of the wallpaper customizations, which is now my way of distinguishing the units.
To the Zima company: a ZimaBoard2 can have set a custom name. That’s good. But it would be helpful to see that unit’s name also clearly on the dashboard. Unless I have overlooked it, how can this be made possible? The change of the wallpaper is a start for distinguishing different units, but it would be also good if the unit’s name can be displayed on the main dashboard screen for faster, easier identification. Thanks!
The iOS app already supports this feature for managing and switching between multiple devices, and a new version is expected to be released soon.
Hello,
I have installed the latest ZimaClient version on iOS, but it doesn’t give me the option to switch between multiple ZimaBoards.
When I start the app, I get to see one of my two units - the name is to be read like that “ZimaBoard2 unit 1” (my second unit is therefore named ZimaBoard2-2). The app shows me a duplicated entry of one and the same unit #1 - identifiable by the name and latest by the same IP address:
Once I log into it, I get this dashboard on the iPhone displayed. I looked around and checked the various buttons, but it doesn’t give me any option to register another ZimaBoard (I have 2 of them running in the same LAN), so then I can’t also switch between them.
The latest version has not yet been released, but it is expected very soon. I will notify you once it is available!
