Is there ANY way to use my new Zimboard 2 without installing ZerTier One? My employer blocks install of other VPNs (and it appears this is like that). I just want to be able to access it like I do OneDrive and Google Drive. I don’t need anything fancy. But I can’t install the full client because of the ZeroTier One app.
What I do is to access it via Cloudflare tunnel with a very cheap domain I’ve bought many years ago. It works quite well for quick access either at work or LTE.
I’m not looking for doing it outside my home office network. Even inside my home office network, I try to install the client, and it requires that ZeroTier app which is blocked as I have corporate VPN software installed. I just want a file sync app like OneDrive or Google drive on my machines so I can access my files. I can access the rest of it via the browser interface. But it says even to do old style SMB shares you have to have that client installed.
BTW… I did get it hit on SMB after waiting FOREVER for Win 11 to discover. Crazy. But does anyone know if it is SMB 3.0 (hopefully) or 1.0? I enabled 1.0 just as a lark and wondering if anyone knows that. I would still like a sync client, but I guess I’d have to use Nextcloud or something for that since I am not allowed to install ZeroTier.
Hi, if you already have access to your LAN locally or via any other VPN (not Zerotier) just create from inside the ZimaOS File app a “share via LAN” to your actual ZimaOS ip and then you can point to it from anywhere on your LAN / VPN via classic SMB path and credentials. I actually prefer this to using the Client app + Zerotier.

That’s what I’m trying. For some reasons SMB shares don’t always work or are finicky on Win 11 Enterprise. Not sure why. But that’s what I want. I’m going to play with it more over the next few weeks and will put my findings here. Do you know if it supports SMB 3.0 or do I have to enable 1.0 (disabled by default) on each machine?
