It sounds like you are connected to the same network multiple ways which that means your MAC is going to only want to use the connection that has a default route and as a result probably ignoring the cross over connection you are using to get to your zimacube.
So Try:
- Set the IP address of the Network Interface on your MAC that is connected to the cross over cable to be 192.168.10.5
- Set the IP address of the Network Interface on the Zimacube which is connected to the cross over cable to be 192.168.10.10
- Check to make sure you are sharing a folder via SMB on the Zimacube.
- See if you can get to the zimaos console via 192.168.10.10
- If you can connect to the zimaos console via 192.168.10.10 then you should be able to connect to the smb share using: \\192.168.10.10\
