Samba share ZimaOS - Specific user Preventing Delete with Read/Write Access
I need one user with Read/Write Access but not allowed to Delete folder how to do that
I’m new to Zima, but I think I got that part figured out.
Click the gear on Dashboard “Storage” choose folder icon on your storage drive.
Mouse over the folder you want specific access for and right click the 3 dots upper right corner.
“Select Manage Samba Share”, and add “new member” and select whether read only or read/write.
Hope this helps!, there are many things I haven’t figured out yet, as Zima is really weird with SMB shares,
as it is like no other NAS linux distro I’ve used before. Seems everything is through the GUI instead.
I have Windows boxes able to connect and mount as a mapped drive, but have not figured out how to mount simply just smb on several linux boxes.
I’t could be that I am running from a VM, just testing it out.
There are many things it does well as for running Home Assistant, Peanut for my UPS, Frigate for my security cameras, but that’s a whole another rabbit hole.
