RSS Support in ZimaOS for AQC113 for ZimaCube Pro?

Hello ZimaOS Development Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to discuss RSS (Receive Side Scaling) support for the AQC113 interface on ZimaOS. Currently, it seems that RSS is not enabled, which poses a limitation for utilizing SMB Multichannel effectively on a single 10G port.

Enabling RSS would substantially improve network performance by allowing better distribution of incoming traffic across multiple CPU cores. Given that SMB Multichannel is designed to improve throughput and fault tolerance by using multiple connections, having support for RSS is essential to fully leverage the capabilities of the AQC113 interface.

Could you consider adding this feature in a future release? It would be immensely beneficial for users relying on high-performance NAS solutions, especially those of us using the AQC113 for 10G networking.

Thank you for your hard work on ZimaOS and for considering this request. I am looking forward to your response.

I’ll send this message to our engineer for review. Thanks for your feedback!

The RSS of the AQC113 is already supported. Can you give some actual data references to illustrate the problem?

If it’s all good I apologize. I know the chip itself supports RSS, and I have SMB MultiChannel enabled in ZimaOS on ZCPro. Using only the 10G on the ZCP, I have another NAS with 2x1GbE and smb multichannel supported there as well. And I couldn’t get the copying between to excel past 1GbE/110MB/s. I know my little second NAS (OpenMediaVault 7) it can do 150MB/s+ with a manually copy stream on separate ports.. It might be problem with my OMV box, but I did try to check the RSS settings in ZimaOS by googling how to do so, but maybe I wasn’t good enough in finding the right commands to check..

.. So, how can I verify RSS is enabled in ZimaOS on ZCP?
