as there is no official Zima-client app for Linux:
what is the official/recommended way to access ZimaOS NAS from outside my LAN?

  • “unofficial” Github linux client?
  • zerotier-cli?
  • selfmade wireguard/vpn …?
  • anything to expect in the (near) future?

The easiest way is by using Tailscale.

Thanks for bringing this up. At the moment, there isn’t an official Zima Client app for Linux yet.
For now, there are two community-developed Linux clients you can try, and we’d really welcome your feedback:

These are built by community developers, so if you give them a try, we’d love to hear about your experience.

tried this version,

as recommended installing latest appimage ZimaClient-1.0.0-x86_64.AppImage, app starts fine; HOWEVER all in CHINESE … so as my chinese is not even basic I am lost … …

and the other version

produces an Error/problem with /dev/shm …
