Hi everyone
,
I’m running qBittorrent (via App Store) on ZimaOS and getting a consistent
“Permission Denied” error in the logs whenever I try to download to my external SSD.
Here’s my setup:
- System: ZimaOS (latest build)
- Drive: 1TB SSD mounted at
/media/SSD-1TBStorage - Filesystem:
btrfs - qBittorrent container volume mapping:
/media/SSD-1TBStorage/Downloads→/downloads
- Permissions:
drwxrwxr-x 1 1000 samba /media/SSD-1TBStorage/Downloads
- Inside container, error message:
mkdir (/downloads/incomplete/...) error: Permission denied
I’ve tried:
- Running
chown -R 1000:1000 /media/SSD-1TBStorage/Downloads - Running
chmod -R 775 /media/SSD-1TBStorage/Downloads - Restarting the container and the system
- Verifying container runs as UID/GID 1000
But the issue keeps coming back — downloads never start.
Is this related to how ZimaOS mounts external drives (e.g. samba group ownership)?
If so, how can I permanently fix permissions for Docker apps like qBittorrent, Radarr, and Sonarr?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated ![]()
