Hi, I’m new to ZimaOS, and I’m running it on an Aoostar WTR MAX (Intel version) with 32 GB of RAM. It works very well. I imported some photos off a USB drive to the main storage pool this morning, and the OS quickly takes all available RAM to use as a buffer to import the files. Total RAM use was about 95%. I closed out the control panel to deal with other things while the import finished. The problem is, there doesn’t seem to be any RAM left for me to even log into the control panel until the import is completed. Is there a way to limit the amount of RAM that is available to the OS to use as a buffer for file transfers? My control panel is just a background image when I try to log in. I haven’t set up backups of my files to my USB drives, but I’m concerned it’s going to make all other server functions essentially crippled or unusable because there is no RAM available when I do weekly backups.
Just as an update. The server seemed like it was completely locked up or crashed. No RAID lights blinking. I shut it down with a hard power off. Booted right back up, no problem. Was able to log into the control panel. Removed the USB drive, and I’m currently transferring the files via the desktop Zima Client. RAM use is down to 8%.

To upgrade to the Beta version:
- Go to Settings - General - Developer mode
- Enable the option to join the Beta version
- Wait for a while, and a small red dot should appear on the Settings button in the top bar of the Dashboard
- Click the prompt and follow the steps to upgrade the system
