Immich - library migration from system drive to Raid1 - help needed

Hi!

I need help on how to properly do library migration.

I’m running Immich on ZimaOS from the very beginning on system drive. But now as I added 2 new drives in Raid1 I would like to move Immich library there. I have checked already few topics from this forum but everyone have different approach and different issues. Is there any new updated way to move Immich library to another drive?

Do I need only to change this path /DATA/Gallery/immich to new drive and then copy folder from old path?

Im currently running ZimaOS v1.6.0, Immich v2.7.5

It depends. If you use the ZimaOS settings panel to migrate your “User database” to the new RAID storage pool you will not need to change the directory. Your data will be copied from the old storage location to the new location while keeping the same directory structure. So, the location of your gallery in the file system will still be /DATA/Gallery/immich, but the physical location of that data will change. However, if you decide to manually copy that directory onto your RAID storage pool without migrating the “User database” in the ZimaOS settings menu, then you will need to change the path in your docker-compose.yml.

Okay, thanks for reply  then maybe I will firstly try to migrate user database to Raid with system tool, hope it will work fine with Immich.

Sadly it will move all user data folders, so I will anyway need to change path in some other apps, but Immich is for now priority for me.

If you only want to move Immich to a new drive, you do not need to move the entire user database.

Simply select your new drive under Host and save the configuration.

If you already have existing data on the current drive, I would recommend moving or copying the entire folder:

ZimaOS-HD/Gallery/immich

to the new drive first. This ensures that all existing photos, videos, and other Immich data remain available after the storage location is changed.

Thank you all for help! I was little afraid because I seen a lot of issues while changing immich folder, but I tried what @sny recommended and it worked fine without any issues
