I tested ZimaOS and found a problem with installing Paperless-ngx

Hello,
I installed ZimaOS on an old Mac Mini Server (Mac Mini 5,3) on a trial basis because I wanted to try out ZimaOS. I am considering purchasing a Zima Cube.

So I tried to install ZimaOS from a USB stick. Despite several attempts, this failed every time. Only the first line of the installation was displayed on the screen and it got stuck there.

The next day, I tried installing it from a USB hard drive and it worked fine.

Once it was running, I successfully installed Wordpress. I wanted to install Paperless-ngx, but it only got about three-quarters* of the way through and then got stuck. After a few hours, I restarted the server and tried to install Paperless-ngx again, but this time it didn’t work at all. Then I deleted the already installed data from the AppData folder, restarted the server, and then tried to install Paperless-ngx again. But now the installer started, but got stuck right at the beginning. No new folder was created in the AppData folder either.

It seems to me that the software still needs some development time. This post is intended as feedback for the developers and to point out where problems are currently occurring. Otherwise, I think ZimaOS is really very well done. It’s the right approach!

Best regards,
Gerhard

Addenda:
Version: v1.4.2-beta2
*The Paperless-ngx installation stops at 83%.

Thanks for the feedback! In version 1.4.2, we adjusted the install source and proxy technology for the app. This installation issue is under fix. You’ll get fixes in a quick release version. Thank you for your attention.

Hi Zima-Giorgio,

Or is this an unsolvable topic (licence or whatever)?
