Copied a file, then all folders disappeared!

I copied a .env file on to my Raid storage drives, having already copied a yaml file successfully, ready to manually install an app. As soon as I dragged the file across from my PC, all folders disappeared from the raid drives apart from a couple that remain.

I had that horrible feeling of horror and dread! I thought maybe it’s ok as they should appear in the trash? Nope, the folders have just vanished into thin air and now obviously all of my Docker apps are not working.

Is there a way to recover these folders and files as they must be somewhere?

Hi, we are careful about your data.

Please provide this:

The specs of your machine;
The version of your OS;
The detailed steps that you produced this result.

Would you reproduce it and take a screen record of it? That’s helpful. Look forward to your feedback.

I’m away currently but should be back later today so I’ll try to provide the information then.

Hi again.

Unfortunately I have reinstalled ZimaOS again and so I can’t provide too much detail or replicate the event. I will provide as much information as I can though in the hope it doesn’t happen again!

  1. Intel N100 CPU
  2. 32GB DDR5 Memory
  3. 1 x 512GB M.2 NVME System Drive
  4. 4 x 2TB M.2 NVME Raid 5 Drives

The version at the time of the event was 1.3.3.

I had 2 windows open on the desktop (an Acer Chromebook) with ZimaOS on the left and my Chromebook Files window on the right. I had copied a docker-compose.yml file already but had forgotten the .env file. I was just dragging the .env file across to the Files page on ZimaOS when all folders and files disappeared with the exception of a Media folder and the docker-compose.yml file were still there. The other weird thing was the files and folder within the Media folder had also disappeared!

That’s about as much help as I can offer at this time. I hope you find out the issue!

I heard you have reinstalled the OS and solved the issue?

Hi, yes I’m back up and running again now and everything seems to be good so far. :crossed_fingers:
