And that

Thanks for the suggestion! This is already on our roadmap. We hope to integrate rclone in the future to support more storage protocols and cloud services, and allow users to add the storage providers they want to use.

This will take some time to implement, but it’s definitely something we’d like to improve.

Check out my new post, ZimaOS Automated Backup. I noticed you are not the only one posting recently about data backup on ZimaOS, so I wrote a post detailing my solution. The good news is ZimaOS already includes the tools required to back up your data to many different cloud providers. The bad news (depending how you feel about the CLI) is it requires a bit of manual setup.

My solution involves using Bash scripts with Systemd for automation and the rclone CLI utility that ships with ZimaOS. In fact, when you connect OneDrive or Google Drive in the ZimaOS Files Web-UI you are using rlone under the hood. I am using Backblaze B2 cloud storage for my remote backups, and I am encrypting the data locally before sending it to the remote servers with the handy encryption feature built into rclone.

I don’t know how comfortable you are with using Linux in a terminal, but if you are willing to you can have a very robust backup solution that is set-and-forget for the most part.
